CIAT's Partnership with Japan

CIAT's Partnership with Japan

Translate a dense institutional report on Japan-funded agricultural research — covering cassava technologies, Brachiaria humidicola BNI breakthroughs, rice innovation in Colombia and CIAT's global reach — into a clear, authoritative publication for donors, governments and development partners.

Editorial design for CIAT's 50th anniversary Stewardship Report (1967–2017), documenting the long-standing partnership between CIAT and Japan — including JICA, MOFA, MAFF, JIRCAS and the Nippon Foundation — to advance agricultural research for inclusive and equitable growth across the tropics.

Designed a refined editorial system anchored by CIAT's institutional green and blue palette. The cover combines the CIAT 50 mark with a photographic grid of field research, drone technology, soil and farmers. Interior spreads balance long-form narrative, pull quotes set in italic blue, project data tables, a global reach map and field photography, with structured typographic hierarchy that guides readers through complex scientific content.
