CIAT in Ethiopia

CIAT in Ethiopia

Translate dense scientific and development content into a clear, dignified editorial system that communicates CIAT's impact in Ethiopia to policymakers, partners and funders, while celebrating fifty years of agricultural research for a sustainable food future.

Editorial design for ‘CIAT in Ethiopia: Science for Impact’, a publication produced for the International Center for Tropical Agriculture's 50th anniversary (1967–2017). The piece documents thirty years of CIAT's work in Ethiopia — from improved bean varieties and climate information services to soil fertility, sustainable land management and the country's alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Built a four-theme structure — markets and competitiveness, nutrition, sustainable landscapes and climate-smart investment — anchored by the institutional CIAT 50 identity. Combined documentary photography from the field with thematic icons, SDG infographics and color-coded section openers to guide the reader, balancing long-form text columns with breathing white space, pull-quote sidebars and a credits/partners closing spread.
